Perranporth

Perranporth is a seaside resort famous for its three mile (5 km) long beach facing the Atlantic Ocean. Porth Peran is Cornish for the cove of Saint Piran, the patron saint of Cornwall who founded St Piran's Oratory on nearby Penhale Sands in the 7th century. Buried under sand for many centuries, it was unearthed in the 19th century.
