The A30 in Cornwall is expected to remain closed for some time after one person suffered serious injuries in a crash. The route is closed in both directions near Penzance while police officers and paramedics are at the scene.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the A30 at Chyandour, Penzance, shortly before 7am today (Friday, August 2). The South Western Ambulance Service is also at the scene and one person is reported to be in a serious condition, a police spokesperson said.
According to traffic monitor Inrix, the A30 has been closed between Polmeere Road to the Branwell Lane roundabout. Traffic is queuing in the area.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are at the scene of a serious collision involving two vehicles on the A30 at Chyandour, Penzance. Officers were called to the scene at around 6.55am today, Friday 2 August.
"The ambulance service is also in attendance. One person is reported to be in a serious condition.
"Local road closures have been put in place and are expected to remain for some time. The incident is ongoing."
Inrix reports: "A30 Eastern Green in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from Polmeere Road to Jelbert Way (Branwell Lane roundabout)."
