Devon and Cornwall Police is currently hiring for a number of roles, including police constables, as part of its latest recruitment push - and you don't even need to have a degree to join.
As a constable, you will play a critical front-line role in the prevention and detection of crime. Constables work in partnership on a day-to-day basis with local communities, stakeholders and colleagues in order to promote law and order, reduce the fear of crime, provide reassurance and build confidence to improve the quality of life for citizens.
If you don't have a degree, you can join the force through their police constable degree apprenticeship (PCDA) programme, where you will be able to obtain a professional policing degree in your first three years. You will be fully funded, paid and supported whilst training.

Alliance Administrator
Location:Bodmin
Description: In this role, you will be responsible for providing a professional and confidential administrative service to identified customers (individual, team, or unit). This support may cover, maintaining paper or electronic record systems, updating or amending records, updating and, where appropriate interrogating databases and other data sources, downloading data and manipulating or presenting information in an appropriate format, providing support to the superintendent/head of department in the form of diary management or other administrative activities, and providing administrative support to a range of meetings and/or events as required on a regular and/or ad hoc basis.
Pay: £23,556 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £24,462 per annum.
Police Enquiry Officer (Part time)
Location(s):Liskeard x1, Looe x2
Description: The main responsibilities of this role include: being the first point of contact for reported crimes and incidents of a policing nature coming to the front offices and via 101 and other non-urgent means, providing an initial response to a wide range of enquiries from the public and other agencies, receiving and recording information appropriately and accurately, and dealing supportively and reassuringly with witnesses, victims, and the general public escalating to other police resources where appropriate.
Pay: Starting salary for 20 hours per week is £13,470 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £14,784 per annum.

Police constable roles
Join without a degree
If you don't have a degree, you can join the force through their police constable degree apprenticeship (PCDA) programme, where you will be able to obtain a professional policing degree in your first three years. You will be fully funded, paid and supported whilst training.
As a minimum requirement, you must have level two in English and Maths. You can earn up to £46,044 within seven years of joining.
Join with a degree - police constables and detectives
If you already have a degree, you can join Devon and Cornwall Police through the degree holder entry programme (DHEP). You must hold a full degree level qualification, which is equivalent to a level six qualification. A detective route is also available.
As a new police officer, you will be able to obtain a diploma in professional policing degree in your first two years. You can earn up to £46,044 within seven years of joining.
