Train services through Cornwall may be cancelled after a vehicle struck a train bridge. Train services between Par and Newquay may be cancelled or delayed after a bridge between Roche and St Columb Road was struck this afternoon (July 31).
National Rail said disruption is expected until around 3.30pm. Train tickets for these journeys may be used on alternate bus services with Go Cornwall.
The railway company said: " A vehicle striking a bridge between Roche and St Columb Road means that the line is blocked.
"As a result trains between Par and Newquay may be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 15:30."

Trains suspended and road blocked
The latest update from Inrix says: "Service suspended on Great Western Railway between Par and Newquay due to road vehicle hitting a bridge."
It adds: "B3274 in both directions blocked due to bridge struck by vehicle at Roche Cross. Traffic is coping well."

Lorry overturned
Great Western Railway said:
A lorry has overturned under a railway bridge between Roche and St Columb Road. The lorry driver is uninjured but the bridge requires an examination for any damage before we can run trains over it. Network Rail have specialist staff on site who are doing this.
