Police are on the hunt for an escaped prisoner who could be in Cornwall. Gary Rootham, 42, absconded from HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire yesterday (July 19).
Gary, who was serving time for crimes including driving, robbery and burglary offences, was last seen by prison staff at around 5.40pm on Friday. He was reportedly wearing a dark Nike polo shirt, dark jogging bottoms and black trainers with white soles at the time of his disappearance.
In an effort to aid the search, police have released images of the wanted man. He is described as being 5ft 11ins tall, with short dark-brown hair and typically clean shaven.

Rootham has known connections to Reading and Cornwall. The police are urging anyone who spots Rootham not to approach him but to dial 999 and quote 5224188647.
