Until a few months ago, I had been using the same pair of wired headphones for years and had only really used them when I was out of the house. I then switched to some ear buds and saw how much better they were - but now I've tried Skullcandy's Smokin' Buds and I am obsessed.
I have tested out the 'true wireless earbuds' in true black and they were extremely simple to set up, with a handy guide on their website. Instead of multiple fiddly buttons, the Smokin' Buds have one sensor in the Skullcandy logo, and it acts depending on how many times you press it.
If you want your music to stop, you press them once and if you want to turn the volume up, you press them twice, etc. They also have an auto power on and off mode.

I've been wearing the earbuds on and off throughout my working day and have found that it makes focusing so much better as opposed to listening to the radio or Spotify on a speaker, which I used to do. The sound quality is great and uses 'Skullcandy Supreme Sound'.
They are also great for taking phone calls. Normally when I've used headphones to call my mum, she says she cannot hear me, but she doesn't even realise I have earbuds in when talking to her with the Smokin' Buds.
Skullcandy says the Smokin' Buds, which cost £29.99, have 20 hours total battery life when using with the charging case. I've used them for two eight-hour work days without charging the case. The buds will tell you when the battery is low with a voice saying 'battery low' - which did startle me the first time I heard it, but now I am used to the voice assistant.
The only thing I have found is that it seems you cannot charge the earbuds inside the case when it is plugged in to charge. The buds charge once the case is unplugged and the rapid charge setting means a 10 minute charge will give you two hours battery life.
Skullcandy also has a huge range of other headphones, earbuds and speakers, including the eco-friendly EcoBuds. I also got to try out the speaker Kilo, a wireless bluetooth portable speaker that costs £49.99. The Kilo comes in nine colours and has a rating of 4.8 out of five on the Skullcandy website.
This little speaker is a little bigger than your hand with impressive sound. The first time I used it on a Sunday evening at home, I didn't dare turn the volume up more than half way, as it was already very loud with great bass.
The controls are really easy to use, with a power on/off button and a plus and minus to turn the volume up and down. You can also press and hold the plus button for two seconds to skip a track and press and hold the minus button for two seconds to go to the last track - very handy when you are not near your phone/laptop. There is a handy guide on the website if you need help to set your Kilo up.
The Kilo would be great for barbecues or get-togethers and as it's Bluetooth, anyone can be the DJ. It is waterproof, so you could even use it at a pool party or in the rain. It has 24-hours of battery life and also has a built-in clip if you want to hang it up or attach it to your bag if you're on a camping trip.
It even has a wireless linking system that I am yet to try, but it means you can sync two Kilo speakers at the same time. The Kilo does not have a phone-call option, so if you get a call when you're using the Kilo you can not answer the call through the speaker.
You can get some of the Skullcandy range, including the Smokin' Buds on Amazon.
Shoppers are also raving about these soundcore by Anker Q20i Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Foldable Headphones which feature Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling, with two internal and two external mics which work in tandem to detect external noise. Read about them here.
Elsewhere, Boots has the Mixx StreamQ C1 Over Ear Wireless Bluetooth Headphones for £25 and Smyths has the JVC Wireless Bluetooth On Ear Headphones White for £26.99.
