The nation’s “king of desserts” has crowned a successful weekend selling ice cream in Cornwall by announcing he’s looking for business partners to sell his delicious delicacies. The famous Mr Tee is this evening selling his sweet treats in three duchy towns at the end of two days of sugar rush selling.

Mr Tee himself is serving up desserts in St Austell at the B&M car park off the A390 Southbourne Road. He’s also got a van in action at the Priory car park in Bodmin, and another in Wadebridge, making his first visit to the town.

All three vans are dishing up the delicacies until 10pm today and Mr Tee, real name Imran Ashiq, said his entire range of products are proving popular. He said: “People are asking for everything, the cookie dough is selling like hot cakes, or like hot cookie dough.

“It’s really busy, everything is hunky dory, the weather is really nice today, Well, it’s not raining, and that’s the main thing.”

Mr Tee is also generous with his treats, and will give away free desserts to winners of a Facebook competition in each of the three Cornwall locations this evening. Mr Tee, something of a living legend in the dessert world, brought his three vans to Cornwall this year as a “working holiday,”.

Yesterday he was in Redruth, and had other vans in Newquay and Truro. This is Mr Tee’s first visit to Cornwall for four months and he’s brought his entire family from their base in North Wales - including six grown-up children and his brother. He said: “It will probably be our last visit this year.”

But that doesn’t mean you might have to wait a whole year to sample some of his sugary surprises. Mr Tee revealed he is looking for businesses to sell his products right here in Devon and Cornwall.

“We can supply any dessert parlour, any milkshake bar, any hotel, any restaurant, any takeaway, any ice cream van , anywhere in the country,” he said. “We offer promotion and guidance on how to sell the products.

“So we are looking for people to join our bandwagon and work alongside us. We already supply people in Bristol, Taunton, Somerset and more than 1,000 customers nationwide. But we have not got anyone here (Devon and Cornwall) so please get in touch, send us a message on our Facebook page and we will reply.”

Of Indian heritage, Mr Tee grew up in North Wales and worked in a pizza business before buying his first ice cream van in 2015. Now he’s got a factory, depot, vehicles and social media followers by the cone full.

He said people just can’t get their fill of his treats, including Kinder Bueno fudge cake, Galaxy Caramel cookie dough, the creamy fudge brownie “smiley tray”, the Kinder Roche mash-up, ice cream banoffee pie, Lotus Biscoff fudge and caramel and toffee waffle, and the “fudgey caramel one”. He said there are “over 50 combinations to choose from”.

He said: “And for the boys I do Spiderman ice cream, for the girls: unicorn ice cream, and for the teens: candy shop. I’m working on a vegan one for when I’m next down here.”

Mr Tee explained that his “whippy” ice cream requires a machine in each van. But he is getting a new machine next year so can equip one van with two machines and serve vegan and dairy delights. He said: “We are getting a new machine in January so we will be offering a vegan alternative in the same van. That’s the plan for next year.”
